Local Weather: Rinse and repeat forecast Friday through Sunday with onshore breezes, partly sunny skies, highs near 80

Jacksonville will be sitting between high and low pressure systems this weekend meaning it'll be rather breezy, even gusty at times.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Weather Headlines:

- Dry weather to wrap up the workweek

- A stronger onshore flow develops and persists through the weekend.

- Rip current risks will be higher

- Chance of some coastal sprinkles south of Jacksonville.

- Temperatures rebound to above-average levels through next week

FRIDAY - SUNDAY:  A persistent onshore, southeast flow will help to usher in isolated showers near the coast, but most of the rain will remain offshore. Otherwise, conditions will remain mostly dry with highs in the seasonable lower 80s with partly sunny skies. Sunday's high will struggle to get into the 80s but the mercury will rise through next week.

MONDAY - WEDNESDAY: Expect a gradual warmup as southerly winds dominate with passing clouds through the start of the work week. Temperatures will be near 90 degrees by Wednesday afternoon.

THURSDAY - FRIDAY:  The heat remains in place with a slight uptick in the chance of rainfall due to a passing front to the north of Jacksonville. Winds will remain out of the southwest with partly cloudy skies.
